These Terms & Conditions apply to purchases made through the Bees Up Top Shop website page. 

Bees Up Top Shop Terms & Conditions

1. General

By purchasing products from Bees Up Top, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.

We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms at any time without prior notice.

2. Products

We make every effort to ensure product descriptions, images and pricing are accurate. However:

  • product colours, appearance and packaging may vary slightly; 

  • handmade products may have natural variations; 

  • honey flavour, colour and texture may vary seasonally due to natural floral sources.

All products are subject to availability.

We reserve the right to discontinue products or limit quantities at any time.

3. Pricing & Payments

All prices are listed in New Zealand Dollars (NZD) and may include GST unless otherwise stated.

Payment must be completed at the time of purchase through the payment methods available on our website.

Bees Up Top reserves the right to correct pricing errors or inaccuracies at any time.

4. Shipping & Delivery

We currently ship within New Zealand unless otherwise agreed.

Delivery timeframes are estimates only and may vary due to courier delays, weather events, rural delivery, or circumstances outside our control.

Bees Up Top is not responsible for:

  • delays caused by third-party couriers; 

  • incorrect shipping information supplied by customers; or 

  • lost or stolen parcels once delivery has been confirmed. 

Additional shipping charges may apply for rural or oversized deliveries.

5. Click & Collect

Click & collect is not currently offered. 

6. Returns & Refunds

We want customers to be happy with their purchase.

If a product arrives damaged or faulty, please contact Bees Up Top within 7 days of receiving your order with:

  • your order number; 

  • photographs of the issue; and 

  • a description of the problem. 

Where appropriate, we may offer:

  • a replacement; 

  • store credit; or 

  • a refund. 

Due to the nature of food and handmade products, we generally do not accept returns for:

  • change of mind; 

  • opened food products; or 

  • minor natural variations in handmade items. 

Nothing in these Terms limits your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993.

7. Honey & Natural Products

Our honey and beeswax products are natural products and may vary in:

  • flavour; 

  • colour; 

  • texture; 

  • consistency; and 

  • appearance. 

Crystallisation of honey is a natural process and does not indicate spoilage or reduced quality.

8. Allergies & Product Use

Customers are responsible for reviewing product ingredients and suitability before purchase.

Bees Up Top is not liable for allergic reactions or adverse effects resulting from the use or consumption of products purchased through the shop.

9. Gift Boxes & Corporate Orders

Corporate gifting, customised orders, and bulk purchases may be subject to separate proposals, lead times, and additional terms.

Large orders may require deposits and extended production timeframes.

10. Intellectual Property

All website content, product photography, branding, logos, copy, and designs remain the property of Bees Up Top and may not be copied or used without written permission.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by New Zealand law, Bees Up Top is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from the purchase or use of products from our shop.

Our total liability relating to any order shall not exceed the purchase price of the relevant product.

12. Privacy

Personal information collected during purchases will be handled in accordance with applicable New Zealand privacy laws and used only for:

  • processing orders; 

  • customer communication; 

  • delivery; and 

  • related business operations. 

13. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of New Zealand.

Workshop Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions apply to all workshop bookings made with Bees Up Top. 

Bees Up Top Workshop Terms & Conditions

1. Bookings

Workshop bookings are confirmed once:

  • a booking confirmation has been issued by Bees Up Top; and 

  • any required deposit or payment has been received. 

All workshop participants agree to comply with these Terms & Conditions upon booking or attending a workshop.

2. Payments

Unless otherwise agreed in writing:

  • Full payment is required prior to the workshop date. 

  • Prices are listed in New Zealand Dollars (NZD) and may be subject to GST. 

  • Bees Up Top reserves the right to change pricing at any time prior to confirmation of booking.

Late payments may result in cancellation of the booking.

3. Cancellations & Rescheduling

Client Cancellations

  • Cancellations made more than 14 days before the workshop may receive a full refund or reschedule.

  • Cancellations made within 7–14 days of the workshop may receive a 50% refund. 

  • Cancellations made less than 7 days before the workshop are non-refundable. 

Rescheduling requests are subject to availability.

Bees Up Top Cancellations

Bees Up Top reserves the right to postpone or cancel workshops due to:

  • unsafe weather conditions; 

  • bee welfare considerations; 

  • illness; 

  • unforeseen operational circumstances; or 

  • events outside of our reasonable control. 

Where possible, an alternative date or full refund will be offered.

4. Health & Safety

Participants acknowledge that workshops may involve interaction with live bees and outdoor environments.

By attending, participants:

  • accept that there is an inherent risk associated with beekeeping activities; 

  • agree to follow all safety instructions provided by Bees Up Top staff; 

  • agree not to handle bees or equipment unless instructed to do so. 

Participants must notify Bees Up Top prior to the workshop if they:

  • have a bee sting allergy; 

  • have relevant medical conditions; or 

  • have accessibility requirements that may affect participation. 

Bees Up Top reserves the right to refuse participation where safety concerns exist.

5. Protective Clothing

Where protective beekeeping gear is provided:

  • participants must wear the equipment as instructed; 

  • participants are responsible for taking reasonable care of supplied equipment. 

If participants are going on a rooftop tour or participating in a honey extraction workshop, they should wear: 

  • enclosed footwear; 

  • long sleeves; and 

  • suitable outdoor clothing. 

6. Participant Conduct

Bees Up Top reserves the right to remove any participant from a workshop if their behaviour is unsafe, disruptive, or inappropriate.

No refund will be provided in these circumstances.

7. Photography & Marketing

Bees Up Top may take photographs or videos during workshops for marketing and promotional purposes.

If a participant does not wish to appear in promotional content, they must notify Bees Up Top prior to the workshop.

8. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by New Zealand law:

  • Bees Up Top is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from participation in a workshop.

  • Participants attend workshops at their own risk. 

Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or remedies available under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or other applicable New Zealand consumer laws.

9. Weather & Outdoor Conditions

Some workshops are conducted outdoors and may be affected by weather conditions.

Bees Up Top may modify, postpone, or relocate workshops where necessary to ensure participant safety and bee welfare.

10. Gift Vouchers & Private Events

Where applicable:

  • gift vouchers are non-refundable and not redeemable for cash; 

  • private workshop bookings may be subject to separate proposal terms. 

11. Intellectual Property

All workshop materials, content, branding, photographs, and educational resources remain the property of Bees Up Top unless otherwise agreed in writing.

12. Privacy

Any personal information collected during bookings will be handled in accordance with applicable New Zealand privacy laws and used only for workshop administration, communication, and related business purposes.
